This incidence took place at Port Blair, morning around 0830hrs. Vessel was ready to sail, movement was given 2nd movement was dead slow astern and wind was so rough, vessel hit the rock and every body was in panic. 2nd Engr. rushed to steering compartment. 3rd movement was dead slow ahead, and vessel got stuck in the rock and did not come out. Several movements were tried out, but still the vessel did not come out of the rock. Then After 2 day’s of trying and since vessel did not come out of the rock, tugs were called and pulled the vessel one from FWD and one from Aft. Vessel came out. All checks, under water survey done and photo graphs were taken, 2 propeller blades were found bent and the same repaired in the subsequent dry dock.
