MEAT ROOM ACCIDENTS

Crew has been found slipping on glazed-over tiled floors in reefer rooms.
Also unable to open the meat room doors from the inside as doors are fitted with a latch & spring loaded mechanism which may fail.
Alarm failure is also found to be common.
All the handling rooms and reefer rooms ought to be provided with skid free flooring.
All saloon crew personnel using reefer chambers should familiarize themselves with opening of doors as per design provided, and alarm switches should be marked with reflective material.
All reefer room hooters to be tested regularly and operation to be shown to all crew, so as to familiarize them with their operation, and respond swiftly and properly to rescue entrapped persons.
