HIMT had the privilege of welcoming Capt Sarnbir Singh Sawhney, Project Manager – Alternative Fuels Transition, Seaspan.

During his visit, Capt. Sawhney was given an overview of HIMT’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and shared valuable insights on the evolving landscape of maritime training. He took a keen interest in our pioneering initiatives with Extended Reality (XR) technologies and emphasized how such innovations are transforming the way seafarers are prepared for real-world challenges. He also highlighted how AR-based training is increasingly being integrated into seafarer development at Seaspan.

At the HIMT Post-Sea Centre, Capt. Sawhney observed our advanced simulators in operation and engaged in meaningful discussions on how technology-driven training can further enhance safety and competence at sea. His encouraging words reinforced the importance of continually updating training methods to meet the industry’s evolving needs.

We are grateful for his visit and the perspectives he shared, which further inspire us to continue strengthening our efforts in innovation, technology integration, and excellence in maritime education.
