Best Maritime Cadet of India
I’m glad to share that I got the MASSA Excellence Award for my performance and dedication during my training period. Received it at Hotel Taj, Mumbai on 15th November 2025.
This recognition is truly special, as only a few cadets from across India receive this honour, and being one of them feels incredibly rewarding.
This achievement represents every hour of hard work, discipline, and consistency that has shaped my journey so far. It reminds me that growth doesn’t come overnight — it comes from showing up every single day with sincerity and purpose.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to HIMT for providing a learning environment that constantly pushes us to evolve and excel.
A big thank you to d’Amico for the opportunities, exposure, and continuous support throughout my training journey.
And a sincere thanks to MASSA for recognising my efforts and giving me this prestigious honour.
This milestone motivates me to keep improving, stay disciplined, and contribute meaningfully to the maritime industry.

Triumph Beyond the Tides – HIMT College Shines at Naviquest 2025! 
HIMT College cadets made waves at Naviquest 2025, a prestigious maritime fest organized by Great Eastern Institute of Maritime Studies, Lonavla. With unmatched zeal, teamwork, and technical brilliance, our cadets clinched the top spot in the Engineering Event and proudly brought home the Overall Runner-Up Trophy! 
Representing HIMT with pride and passion were our talented cadets- Anandhu P S, Vikranth A, Nathal Saldhana, Sivasoundar Sivakumar, and Richard G, who travelled all the way from Chennai to the Western Coast in Lonavala to showcase their skills, confidence, and competitive spirit on the national stage. 
The atmosphere was electric with cheers and excitement as our spirited cadets showcased their passion, innovation, and seafaring spirit among the best maritime minds across the nation. Their performance truly reflected the HIMT ethos of excellence, discipline, and determination.
A heartfelt thank you to Great Eastern Institute of Maritime Studies for organizing such a spectacular and enriching event, fostering camaraderie, learning, and healthy competition among budding mariners.

Our cadets Anandhu P. S. and Nayana Sebastian proudly made it to the semi-finals of the Maritime SheEO Debate Competition 2025, impressing everyone with their confidence, clarity, and maritime knowledge, truly reflecting the spirit of the next-generation seafarers! 
A group of our enthusiastic girl cadets also attended the Maritime SheEO Conference 2025, gaining valuable exposure to the global maritime fraternity and inspiring insights on leadership, diversity, and women empowerment from some of the most influential voices in the industry. 
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ms. Sanjam Sahi Gupta, Founder of Maritime SheEO, for organizing such a remarkable and empowering event that continues to break barriers and celebrate women’s leadership across the maritime world.

National Digital Library India Club
With the vision of our Founder- Managing Director Sri Sanjeev S Vakil and the guidance of Lady Tarangani Vakil, Director Finance- HIMT, the much awaited HIMT NDLI Club was inaugurated by the Principal and Patron of the club Capt. Anand Subramanian on 10th June 2023.The Inaugural function cum Awareness Session for users was attended by the newly inducted office bearers and members of the club comprising of the President Dr.Ananthan, Secretary RG Thayakaran, Executive members and all members of the faculty and Cadets. Thanks to the initiative and meticulous planning of our Principal Capt. Anand Subramanian, and the hard work put in by Mrs S Geetha Faculty in Computer Science, the club came into existence as a Silver jubilee monumental gift to the faculty and cadets to widen their vistas of knowledge.
We are proud to say that our college has already been awarded CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION by NDLI, A total of 113 cadets have also been awarded CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION in the above event, which would add value to their profile. A total of 252 Faculty & cadets have registered for NDLI membership and out of which 113 members have participated in the inaugural program. Earlier Mrs S.Geetha Faculty in Computer Science, welcomed the gathering and introduced the office bearers. The secretary Shri RG Thayakaran during his key note address spoke on “What is NDLI? & Why NDLI”? Dr.Ananthan President, in his message appealed to all Cadets to make a brilliant use of this virtual facility provided by the management and get benefitted. He said that “Knowledge no more comes from the East alone “, Knowledge can be obtained from any nook and corner using this digital platform which is one of the best gift of the modern Science and Technology. During the networking session, the newly inducted members clarified many a doubt in order to access the NDLI without any technical hurdle. Needless to say that with the inauguration of HIMT -NDLI club, we have added yet another feather to our glorious cap. In the largest Maritime Fest, Naughtica 2022 where, over 25 Maritime Colleges across India participated, Team HIMT secured 3rd position by winning 2 Gold medals and 1 silver Medal. Honorable Director General of Shipping, Shri. Amitabh Kumar, IRS felicitated the winners.

ROHIT RANJAN, a HIMT student of the B.Tech Marine Engineering batch of 2019, has always had a passion for Merchant Navy, and is extremely sincere towards his goal of becoming a competent seafarer. Yokesh A. of B.Tech 2nd year secured the 1st postion in the event Debugging. The combined force of the B.sc(Nautical Science) first year and second year students fought tooth and nail to secure the Second position in the prestigious BOAT ROWING Competition. John Remington of Bsc Second year was adjudged the best heaving line thrower in individual events and won the second position in the overall heaving line throwing Competition at NAVINAUTICS 14. Mr. Ananthan of the HIMT fraternity,was given the momento of appreciation by the dlegates of NAVINAUTICS and for the overall sporsmanship shown by the Nautical cadets of HIMT
