ELIGIBILITY

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AGE LIMIT MEDICAL EXAMINATION
Mechanical Engineering Candidates:

Qualification:
Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering or its specialized streams (e.g., Mechanical and Automation, Mechanical and Electronics, Mechanical and Automobile). However, the word “Mechanical” should be first indicating Mechanical Engineering is the core and second subject is the elective.

Academic Performance:
Minimum 50% marks in the final year of the degree program.
Minimum 50% marks in English in 10th/12th/Degree Examinations

Naval Architecture Candidates:

Qualification:
BE or B.Tech in Naval Architecture or its specialized streams (e.g., Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture and Ship Building). However, the word “Naval Architecture” should be first indicating naval architecture is the core and second subject is the elective.

Academic Performance:
Minimum 50% marks in the final year of the degree program.

Note:
Must have completed 10th and 12th from a recognized board.
The degree must be recognized by the government or AICTE.

Note: A relaxation of 5% marks in English shall be granted to the candidates who are native of the Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar islands and belong to Scheduled Tribes and who and both of whose parents were born in those islands and belong to the Scheduled Tribes of those islands.
Maximum 25 years of age at the time of commencement of the course.

Eye-Sight:
Minimum Unaided Vision 6/12

Eye Health:
No eye conditions, full eye movement, normal pupil response, good binocular vision. No Color blindness and Color vision tested with Ishihara Chart.

Physical Fitness:
Candidates must be medically fit including eye sight and hearing as prescribed in the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules, 2000, as amended, and need to produce a certificate of medical fitness issued by D.G. Shipping Approved Doctor.
