What are the eligibility criteria for the BSM Sponsored GME Course at HIMT College?

To apply, candidates must have a B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a government-recognized or AICTE-approved institution. They must have 12th English and PCM above 65%, or 60% aggregate in Diploma if 12th is not completed. The degree aggregate must be above 60%, and the candidate must not exceed 24 years of age on commencement of course. Final semester students may also apply.

What is the medical and eyesight requirement for the BSM GME sponsorship?

Candidates must meet the medical standards prescribed in the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules, 2000. They must have minimum unaided vision of 6/12, normal eye movement, healthy pupil response, good binocular vision, and no color blindness (tested via Ishihara chart). Medical fitness must be certified by a DGMA (DGS) approved doctor.

Is sponsorship guaranteed after joining the GME course at HIMT College?

No. Sponsorship is based entirely on BSM’s selection process, which includes tests and interviews. Admission to the course is subject to meeting all mandatory requirements, and BSM’s decision regarding selection is final. Candidates added to the WhatsApp group will receive guidance for the BSM test and interview.

What is the refund policy for the ₹25,000 token amount?

The ₹25,000 token amount is fully refundable only if the candidate attends the BSM online test/interview but does not clear it. If the candidate fails to attend, or backs out after being shortlisted or selected, the token amount is forfeited. The application fee is non-refundable, and fees are forfeited after course commencement if a candidate withdraws.

What documents are mandatory before joining the BSM GME course?

Candidates must submit their 10th and 12th certificates, all semester mark sheets, and for final-year students, the 8th semester mark sheet before course commencement. As per DGMA guidelines, a valid passport is mandatory for joining the course. A medical fitness certificate from a DGMA (DGS) approved doctor is also required.

⁠⁠HIMT will do the initial screening and shortlist candidates.
Candidates shortlisted by HIMT in the Interview stage must pay the Initial token amount (Refundable- Check policy below) within the stipulated deadline. Failure to pay within the deadline will result in the seat being offered to the next candidate on the waitlist.
The final shortlisted candidates who complete all formalities will be sent for the Wah Kwong Maritime Group selection process. They will review the applicants and shortlist candidates further for their selection rounds (Online / Offline), as per the company’s requirements.
Candidates selected by Wah Kwong Maritime Group must complete all admission formalities, including document submission and fee payment, immediately within the specified deadlines
We strongly advise all candidates to ensure their basic medical fitness beforehand, including Height, Weight, BMI, and Colour Vision requirements.
The Application Fee paid is non-refundable
As per DGMA (DGS) Guidelines, passport is mandatory to join the course.
Caution Deposits are refundable at the end of the course after adjustments of laundry charges & damages, breakages etc., if any.
Fees paid is forfeited if withdrawn from the Course after the course commencement, or after being selected by a company.
The decision of HIMT and Wah Kwong Maritime Group shall be final and binding.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY

Token Amount Refund Policy for this Sponsorship Drive:

Candidates who are not selected at either the HIMT stage or the Wah Kwong Maritime Group stage will receive a full refund of the initial token amount paid.
If a candidate withdraws for any reason (including medical issues or non-attendance for interviews) after being lined up for the Wah Kwong Maritime Group selection process, or after being selected by them, the initial token amount will be forfeited.
