HIMT had the honour of hosting Capt. Yogesh Jadhaav, Director & Head of Crewing, Western Crew Management Services (India) Pvt Ltd, on 22nd August 2025 as the Chief Guest for the Passing Out Ceremony of GME 27, proudly known as the IMEC Batch.

This milestone marks the graduation of 21 IMEC-sponsored GME cadets, a testament to IMEC’s vision and commitment in shaping the future maritime leaders. Dr. Sanjeev S. Vakil, CEO, placed on record heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Francesco Gargiulo (CEO, IMEC), Mr. Rob Gale (Head of Training, IMEC), Capt. Belal Ahmed (Managing Director, Western Shipping), Mr. Gary Mills (Training Officer, IMEC), Capt. Sankalp Shukla (Chairman, FOSMA) and Capt. Shiv Halbe (CEO, MASSA), along with all sponsoring companies, for their invaluable support in nurturing this batch.

In their welcome address, Dr. Sanjeev S. Vakil (CEO) and Capt. Anand Subramanian (Principal) expressed deep gratitude to IMEC leadership, Western Shipping and all sponsoring companies for their continuous collaboration, which has played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of young maritime professionals.

During his campus tour, Mr. Tirth S. Vakil (Operations Manager) and Mr. Jerome (Faculty) explained the state-of-the-art VR Lab. Capt. Jadhaav expressed his admiration, remarking that it was the first time he had witnessed such an advanced setup, and highly appreciated HIMT’s efforts in adopting cutting-edge training technologies.

At the Post-Sea Training Centre at Tidal Park, Capt. R. Anand (Principal) and Mr. Kirtan S. Vakil (Business Development Manager) accompanied the Chief Guest through the POLAR course, IGF training facilities, other advanced courses, and simulator centers, where he acknowledged HIMT’s outstanding infrastructure and world-class standards of maritime training.

In his address to the graduating cadets, Capt. Jadhaav shared powerful messages:

📌 “Never compromise on Safety, Integrity & Discipline – Alcohol, MARPOL & Harassment violations can end careers instantly.”

He congratulated the cadets on reaching this milestone and reminded them that this is not the end of their learning, but the beginning of a lifelong journey.
